Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Students in years 3, 4 and 5 were invited by Newcastle Council to attend the National School Tree Planting Day at Federal park. Students took part in planting native trees, listened to a reptile talk, patted animals and made their own craft.
Wallsend Public School offers a wide range of representative sporting opportunities, giving students the chance to develop skills, teamwork and school spirit. Congratulation to our junior girl netball team for making the finals in the Dunford Cup this year.
Our Aerobics team competed in the local competition, state and made it through to the National FISAF tournament this year on the Gold Coast. The team showed commitment, perseverance and determination to reach the top level of competition in the country. They may not have received a medal but are all winners for this amazing experience.
Kindergarten enjoyed celebrating 100 days of schools by dressing up as 100 year olds. They counted to 100 and sang songs, wrote what we want to do before we turn 100 and made necklaces with 100 beads. Everyone had a great day celebrating.
"My children have had a wonderful experience at Wallsend Public School. The school offers many opportunities for them to grow both academically and through extracurricular activities. We are very happy with the supportive and enriching environment Wallsend Public School provides.” — a parent of Wallsend Public School
