School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

Easter Hat Parade
Date: Term 1 each year
Our Easter Hat Parade is a time to come together as a community and create our hat masterpieces. Our students enjoy parading them around we welcome a special visitor!
Harmony Day
Date: Term 1 each year
Wallsend Public School has a rich multicultural history and proudly celebrates the diverse backgrounds of our students and families. We value inclusivity and belonging, and this is reflected in our everyday practices and whole-school events. Harmony Dayi s a key celebration, bringing our community together to share culture, promote respect, and strengthen unity through food, music, and meaningful connections.
P&C meeting
All parents and citizens are welcome to attend our P&C Meetings.
Sub committee meetings are held on a Tuesday of Week 2 and Week 7 of each term at 12.30pm.
General meetings are held Tuesday evenings in Week 3 and Week 8 at 6.30pm. General meetings are offered via hybrid style. You are welcome to attend onsite in the school library or via teams.
NAIDOC
Date: Term 2 each year
Students and staff celebrate NAIDOC Week each year by wearing mufti clothes in the Aboriginal flag or Torrens Strait Islander colours of red, black and yellow, blue, green and white. We honour the histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In partnership with families and community, we share culture through storytelling, art, dance, and meaningful experiences, reflecting our ongoing commitment to deepening cultural understanding and strengthening Aboriginal education.
Mother's and Father's Day Breakfasts and Stalls
Date: Terms 2 & 3 Each Year
We celebrate our Mum's, Dad's and significant others with an annual Mother's and Father's Day breakfast. A BBQ breakfast in the COLA area is a fantastic opportunity to relax, enjoy a yummy breakfast and connect with other families.
Our P&C and dedicated parent/carer volunteers host our annual Mother's and Father's Day stalls.
Book Week
Date: Term 3 Each Year
Book Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading. Students take part in fun activities throughout the week and also participate in the Book Parade.
