School contributions
In NSW public schools, all financial contributions are voluntary. Every student has full access to the curriculum, regardless of whether contributions are made.

We are excited to welcome our Kindergarten 2027 students to Wallsend Public School. We have a number of events to support children transitioning to school. In addition, commencing in Term 2, we hold our Wrigglers School Readiness Program.
Kindergarten Orientation: 9:15-11:15am
Session 1 : Tuesday 27th October 2026
Students go into Kindergarten rooms. Parents to meet in hall for meet and greet. Morning tea provided for parents.
Session 2 : Tuesday 3rd November 2026
Students go into Kindergarten rooms. Parents to meet in hall for an Expo showing casing what Wallsend Public School has to offer. Morning tea provided for parents.
Wallsend Wrigglers is a weekly preschoolers transition to school program. Students enrolled to begin Kindergarten at Wallsend Public School the following year are invited to attend Wrigglers. From Term 2 Wrigglers operates Tuesday mornings, 9:15–11:15 AM, in the school library during school terms.
At Wrigglers, preschool students enjoy singing songs, and playing with a variety of toys and hands on activities, learning to share, take turns, and work alongside other students. Wrigglers are introduced to letter sounds and recognition following the Jolly Phonics letter sequence. They practice number recognition and counting through games and songs. Wrigglers are also introduced to school routines such as fruit break, toileting, lining up and packing their belongings into their bag.
We look forward to welcoming your child to Wallsend Wrigglers, their first steps at Wallsend Public School.
